Challenge
Tyre production involves the handling of deformable rubber materials, where many operations still rely on manual dexterity and adaptation. These tasks can create physical and cognitive load for operators and are difficult to automate with rigid robotic solutions.
GRAIL approach
GRAIL solution will support robots in handling variable materials, adapting to product variability and collaborating safely with operators. The model will help plan task sequences, ground them in the capabilities of different robotic platforms and execute them through adaptive control.
Expected impact
A solution allowing more flexible automation for deformable materials, improved ergonomics and safer human-robot collaboration in tyre manufacturing and related sectors.
